Legends tell of a strange and dangerous creature located in the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey. 1735 is the first known sighting of the beast that goes by multiple names. But all of its aliases share a common word, “devil”. The Jersey Devil, as its most commonly known, is a mix between a wyvern (a dragon like creature), a bat, and a goat. While this creature lives among other mythical animals like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, it is a fascinating part of history. Also, merchants in New Jersey once placed a reward of $10,000 to capture it so they could build a zoo for the beast.
