Product Highlights

  • The set contains 39 units of American Silver Eagles;
  • One coin from each year of issuance since 1986;
  • Includes 2021 Types 1 and 2 Silver Eagles and the 2023 edition;
  • Graded as MS-69 coins by the NGC;
  • Each coin contains 1 oz of .999 pure silver;
  • One-dollar face value and legal tender status, guaranteed by the US Government;
  • The obverse historically showcases the Walking Liberty;
  • The reverse depicts the Bald Eagle.

The Design

American Silver Eagles have always carried the national pride imprinted on the coin’s designs. Lady Liberty, who stamps the obverse side, is the feminine personification of the nation. And in “The Walking Liberty” image, created by Adolph A. Weinman and used since the launch of the program in 1986, Lady Liberty has the American flag draped on her shoulder, oak branches on one arm, and the other arm is stretched in a welcoming sign. The sun's rays shine in the background while she walks. The word “LIBERTY” is on the upper rim, and the motto “In God we trust” is on the lower left, with the year of issue on the bottom.

The coins from 1986 to 2021 bear the original reverse design, a heraldic eagle grasping olive branches and arrows with its talons, symbolizing the country’s readiness for war but a desire for peace. This design was a creation of John Mercanti.

In the second half of 2021, the US Mint released a new reverse design showcasing the bald eagle, a national symbol of freedom, in a more natural environment. Artist Emily Damstra brought a more realistic depiction of the bird, flying with open wings and carrying some branches in its talons. Besides the usual face value, weight, and metal content inscriptions, the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM” appears on the lower right, above the metal content description.

The NGC MS-69 Grade

NGC stands for Numismatic Guarantee Company, a renowned service that evaluates coins and other collectibles to attribute them grades based on the Sheldon Scale.

The grades vary from 1-70 and correspond to the coin’s condition at the time of the assessment.

An MS coin is classified as Mint State, which means that a particular coin has the same format as a business coin for widespread circulation. And the 69-grade says that the coin may present minor flaws but are almost invisible.

The NGC Brown Label and Package

After the evaluation, the NGC seals the analyzed coins inside plastic slabs to preserve the coin’s condition and uses brown labels with a unique serial number and the attributed grade. All the coins from the set are comfortably housed in two NGC plastic boxes for safe transportation.
