The Saratoga National Historical Park, New York 5 oz Silver America the Beautiful .999 fine Silver coin is the 5th America the Beautiful Coin released by the U.S. Mint in 2015 and the 30th overall!
The reverse was designed by AIP artist Barbara Fox and will be sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Renata Gordon.
This stunning 5 oz coin depicts a close-up of the moment Gen. John Burgoyne surrendered his sword to Gen. Horatio Gates, a pivotal moment many believe marked the "beginning of the end of the American Revolutionary War."
The historic event is depicted along with the inscriptions: BRITISH SURRENDER 1777, SARATOGA, NEW YORK, 2015, and E PLURIBUS UNUM.
The beautiful coin commemorating the British surrender at Saratoga was designed by AIP artist Barbara Fox and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Renata Gordon.
