2015 NGC MS-69 American Silver Eagle Coin For Sale
Total Graded Population Of 29,768!
Struck at the West Point Mint like all previous American Silver Eagles, these 2015 releases are assigned a grade of MS-69 by NGC. This grade signifies a ‘near-perfect’ coin specimen – i.e. no imperfections visible to the naked eye. Although MS-69 is a shade below the perfect MS-70 grade, the differences are noticeable only upon magnification. Hence, these near-perfect American Silver Eagles provide an excellent balance between pristine specimens and relatively lower premiums.
Each year the United States Mint strikes American Silver Eagles, with the first coin releasing in 1986. The US Mint was established in 1792 in Philadelphia and has been responsible for minting American coinage ever since. In fact, the United States Mint was one of the first institutions established in America after freeing itself from the shackles of British rule.
Each American Silver Eagle is struck using 1 troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. Moreover, they also bear a face value of $1 (USD), guaranteed by the United States Government. The reverses of these coins display the John Mercanti portrayal of the Heraldic Eagle – the official seal of the United States of America. It was created during Mercanti’s service as the Chief Engraver for the United States Mint, in 1986, for the American Silver Eagle coins.
Since these silver coins have been graded by NGC after extensive inspection and authentication, the MS-69 grade guarantees an almost perfect coin specimen. These 2015 American Silver Eagles will make excellent additions to American Silver Eagle collections – expanding, or even completing, them. These coins may display some natural spotting, which is completely normal and can occur over time and does not affect the grade of the coin.
