Its reverse features two Bald Eagles, the National Bird of the United States, a young one looking up toward the adult Eagle who is landing on the nest with wings spread wide gracefully. The adult Eagle clutches an Olive branch in its talons, signifying the formidable stature of this country as well as the love for peace it embodies.

Each of these quarter ounce Gold American Eagle coins is assigned an official face value of $10 by the United States government and is accepted as legal tender throughout the country. However, it is the pure Gold it is fashioned from and the annual releases of these iconic American designs that give them value in the eyes of both investors and collectors who maintain extensive Gold and Silver Eagle collections.
