2017 10 oz Australian Year of the Rooster Silver Coins

The Perth Mint’s Lunar Series is widely regarded as one of the best coin series that celebrate the Chinese zodiac. Minted in both Gold and Silver, these coins are popular throughout the world. Accordingly, the Perth Mint has released the 10 ounce Silver Rooster Coin, for the year 2017, which is the Year of the Rooster in the Chinese calendar.

Every coin is composed of ten ounces of pure 0.9999 Pure Silver, with impressive designs on the obverse and reverse of these coins. Since the coins are legal tender in Australia, they feature the familiar Ian Rank-Broadley portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse of the coin. In addition to this, her portrait is surrounded by her name and the name of the country (Australia), followed by the face value (10 Dollars) and the purity and weight of this coin. As expected from the Rooster Silver coin, the reverse depicts a family of chickens feeding among bamboo shoots and grass while a Rooster watches over them.
