This 15 gram 2017 Chinese Silver Panda Proof Coin is one of the three products released to celebrate the 35-year anniversary of the Chinese Panda Coin program. With a breathtaking proof finish and a mintage of just 200,000 coins, it is bound to be popular among both collectors and investors.


The Panda Coin program debuted in 1982. Since then, they have become one of the most famous coins in the world with a large collector community devoted to the series. In fact, since this is one of the few coin series in the world to feature annually changing designs, each coin is unique in its own way – the only common theme – the majestic panda.


Each of these 35th anniversary 2017 Chinese Silver Panda Proofs contain 15 grams of 0.999 fine silver. Moreover, they are assigned legal tender status in China with a face value of 5 Yuan.


Reverses of these coins feature an intricate panda design, composed of several fine vertical lines. A curved line pattern outlines this image, listing each 5-year period of the minting of these coins, starting with 1982-1987. The design flows around the image of the panda, with 5-year windows mentioned at regular intervals, until it reaches 2012-2017.
