Collectors and investors love the annually-changing designs on these silver coins - each featuring the elephant, the largest land mammal on the planet.

Each of these coins contains 1 kilogram (32.15 troy ounces) of 0.9999 pure silver. Moreover, they are assigned legal tender status by the Government of Somalia and have face values of 2,000 Somali Shillings.

The reverses of these coins feature a gorgeous portrayal of an African Elephant in all its glory. This year's design displays an elephant reaching up towards the green leaves at the top of a tree with its massive trunk.

On the other hand, the obverses feature Somalia's National Coat of Arms -- a single star set against a backdrop of horizontal stripes on a shield. Leopards on either side and crossed spears complete this majestic design. The silver coins' year of issue, issuing country's name, and face value are also imprinted on this side.
