The American Palladium Eagle Reverse Proof Coins are a beautiful coin minted by the US Mint in 2018. This is a new set for the US Mint as it is one of three palladium eagle coins that have been released in recent years. These 2018-W 1 oz American Palladium Eagle Reverse Proof Coins have a limited mintage of 15,000 coins and contains one ounce of .9995 palladium.

The US Mint has 6 different locations, but the only location that produces products with palladium is the West Point Facility in New York. With its location being very close to the military academy, when it was opened in 1937 it served as a storage facility for silver bullion and it wasn't granted its official mint status until 1988. Currently, the location specializes in commemorative and special coins and all American Eagle series proof and uncirculated coins are minted at West Point with the palladium versions being a special addition in 2017.

The obverse has a similar design to that of the Mercury Dime with the same designer Adolph A. Weinman. The Winged Liberty head is surrounded by the words “Liberty”, “In God We Trust” and the year next to the designer's initials.

On the reverse side, the design which is also by Weinman, includes a stunning depiction of an eagle holding a branch. The words surrounding the eagle are: “United States of America”, “E Pluribus Unum”, and “1 oz Pd .9995 Fine”.
