The Scottsdale Mint continues their 2019 Biblical Series with The Crowned Virgin coin. This 2 oz silver masterpiece is a great addition to the series as the Crowned Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a very important figure in the Bible. Mary holds a high place in Christianity due to her perpetual virginity and motherly attributes.

The Scottsdale Mint adds this coin to the Biblical series as the fifth release of 2019. This coin is one of the few silver coins that come in an elegant box that resembles the Bible as well as a Certificate of Authenticity Like other coins in the series there is a very limited mintage of only 1499.

The silver bullion used to create these coins is treated to make the coins look like they are antiqued. On the obverse side of the coin, Queen Elizabeth II is pictured with the crown jewels, a likeness designed by Rapael Maklouf.

The reverse side of the coin showcases Gustave Doré’s original artwork of an army of angels defeating a black dragon with swords to protect The Crowned Virgin. The artwork on this coin is intense, detailed and masterfully done by the Scottsdale Mint.
