The ¼ Ounce Gold Eagle is produced using 22-karat gold, meaning the eagle’s purity is 91.67% gold. However, it will be larger than a ¼ ounce 24-karat gold coin so the gold eagle still yields ¼ troy ounce of pure gold bullion.

This coin is a great combination of divisibility and stackability, due to it being at a lower premium over the gold spot than the 1/10 gold eagle, but still more easily divisible than both the ½ and 1 ounce Gold Eagles.

The obverse design features Lady Liberty confidently striding forward with a torch in her left hand and an olive branch in her right. The US Capitol Building can be seen behind her, and the circumference of the coin is filled with 6-pointed stars. 2020 will be minted to the right of her, with the word “LIBERTY” minted at the very top of the coin.

The reverse of these gold coins features a family of bald eagles in the center of the design. The father is landing in the nest with an olive branch clutched in his talons while the mother holds two eaglets in her wings. The nest is mostly comprised of olive branches, representing peace. “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” is minted at the top of the coin, with “1 OZ. FINE GOLD~50 DOLLARS” minted at the very bottom. “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is minted to the left of the nest, & “IN GOD WE TRUST” is minted to the right of the nest.
