SD Bullion is proud to be the exclusive seller of these Geiger Whale Coins in North America. The Whale is the second coin in the brand new “World’s Wildlife” series from the highly respected Geiger Mint, which consistently produces high-quality bullion coins. The first coin in the series, the Giraffe, was released as an SD Bullion Exclusive as well in 2019. This series is very similar to Perth Mint series in that each coin has a limited mintage, and the design will change each year. The worldwide mintage limit for these Silver Whale Coins is only 30,000 coins.

The Whale is minted by Geiger using 1 troy ounce of .9999 silver. In addition to this, each coin will come individually encapsulated in a hard plastic, protective case. The coin is backed by the Congolese government, who give the coin a face value of 20 francs.

The obverse of these silver coins features a Whale breaching the ocean's surface, arcing its back and striking an iconic pose as water cascades off of it. The words “THE Whale” are minted at the top with “WORLD’S WILDLIFE” at the bottom with an outline of an atlas in between the words.

The reverse of the Whale coins features a leopard’s face in the center with a tusk to its left and a spear on its right. There are also three signs that say “JUSTICE”, “PAIX”, & “TRAVAIL” which means “Justice”, “Peace”, & “Labor” respectively. “20” & “20” are minted on either side of the design, with “1 oz Ag 999.9” below it. Around the circumference of the coin are the words “REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO” & “20 FRANCS”.
