NGC introduced their First Release program back in 2011. Silver Coins with this label are guaranteed to have been received by NGC within the first thirty days of the coin’s release. This is a great way for collectors who want an extra way to differentiate Graded Silver Eagles in their collection.

Before the US Mint was established, foreign currency and bartering were the main methods of exchange. Then in 1792 Congress passed the Currency Act which established the first US National Mint in Philadelphia. Since then the US mint has expanded to several different branches nation-wide. American Eagle Coins were first minted at the San Francisco Mint, but in the years since have been minted at the Philadelphia and West Point Mints as well.

The obverse of the 2020 MS-70 Silver Eagle once again features the iconic walking liberty design by German-American artist Adolph Weinman. It is widely considered the most beloved design on any US coin of recent times. Additionally, the word “Liberty” and the phrase “In God We Trust” are both shown here along with the year of issue.

A heraldic bald eagle grasping an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other is showcased on the reverse of the Silver NGC First Day of Issue Silver Eagle. The Eagle is also depicted as bearing a shield and has thirteen stars above its head representing the original thirteen colonies. Encircling the eagle are the words “United States of America” along with the weight, metal type, and monetary denomination of the coin.
