Furthermore, the letters "JC" can be seen on Her Majesty's portrait, being the designer's initials.

The reverse of the new Australian Gold Kangaroo features a brand new design. The 2021 Gold Kangaroo displays an adult kangaroo up close in the Australian wilderness with two Waratah flowers behind the marsupial. Surrounding the image on the coin’s reverse are the words “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO” along with “2021 1oz 9999 GOLD”. The “P” mint mark of the Perth Mint can also be seen on this face of the coin.
