The 2021 2 oz Transfiguration of Jesus Silver Coin is the latest addition to the popular Scottsdale Biblical Series. This coin is the 6th and final release of the 2021 coins. Overall, it is the 42nd coin of the series. This silver coin series was introduced by the Scottsdale Mint in 2015, and it has since grown in popularity among collectors all around the world. Each year, six coins are released, and this pattern will continue for a total of ten years. When the series is complete, there will be 60 two-ounce coins, each depicting a famous scene from the Bible.

Design:

Each coin in the series includes a Certificate of Authenticity that states a Bible verse that contextualizes the image on the coin. This coin features an image depicting the Transfiguration of Christ, based on the scripture found in Matthew 17:2-8.

The reverse shows Moses and Elijah talking with Jesus when Jesus was transformed and his face became bright like the sun. A voice came from the cloud saying “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.' The scene is shown in great detail with the title of the coin, The Transfiguration of Jesus, inscribed at the bottom. 

The effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse of the coin, as it does on previous silver pieces in this series. The following items surround the image: "Niue Two Dollars," "2 oz 999 Fine Silver," "Queen Elizabeth II," and the year of issue, "2021.”
