The animal is depicted in the wilderness, standing tall in the bushes and among tall trees. The words “THE BEAR” and “WORLD’S WILDLIFE” are visible on the top and bottom of the obverse. A small, encircled map of Asia’s territory finishes out the stunning coin’s front.

The reverse of the gold coin displays the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of Congo. A dotted line circles around the coin’s rim. The back is also inscribed with “REPUBLIQUE DEMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO”, “1 OZ AU 999”, “100 FRANCS”, and “2022”, the year of mintage.
