The Design

The images imprinted on the coin’s sides follow the standard design attributed to the 2022 editions.

But this coin is black rhodium-plated, which sharpens the design's intricate details, making them more evident in contrast with the luster background of the proof finish.

Thus, the Alien’s frontal depiction of the reverse design seems closer and more threatening than ever. The ET has colored green eyes, which, thanks to a special coating, reflect the UV light that shines in the dark.

The obverse side has Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy, in the middle of a cosmic spiral pattern. The inscriptions refer to the coin’s information regarding the origin, year of issuance, weight, metal content, fineness, and face value. They read: “REPUBLIC OF GHANA,” “2022,” “FICE CEDIS,” “1 TROY OUNCE, and “999 FINE SILVER.”
