The Journey Series aims to celebrate real or fictional stories involving people’s journeys and the different means of transportation. Previous issues include the Archor, the Airplane Propeller, the Classic Car, and the Truck.

The Design

The reverse design features a frontal view of a steam train encircled by a speedometer. CIT’s logo can be identified on the smoke door and engraved on the train’s sides: “STEAM” on the left and “DREAM” on the right.

Enriching the coin’s imprinted design, CIT used a blend polishment. Most of the reverse design has a black proof finish to darken the train over a mirror-like background. However, it keeps a shining white polishment to the train’s frontal buffers, cowcatcher, and smoke door, contrasting lights.

The obverse is an elegant display of Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy with the following inscriptions around it: “ELIZABETH II,” “10 DOLLARS,” “COOK ISLANDS,” and “2023.”
