Buy 1 oz Commemorative Arts Gold Medals from SD Bullion

Before the US Mint launched the American Gold Eagle program in 1986, Commemorative Arts Gold Medals offered the only way for gold buyers to buy US mint gold products. SD Bullion gives you a chance to relive the pre-American Gold Eagle days with these Random Year 1 oz Commemorative Arts Gold Medals.

The commemorative medals honored those who had made significant contributions to the arts. Since they were released annually between 1980 and 1984, only 5 variants exist. They feature famed artist Grant Wood (1980), popular author Mark Twain (1981), famed musician Louis Armstrong (1982), timeless poet Robert Frost (1983), and admired actress Helen Hayes (1984).

Each of these medals is struck using 1 troy ounce of 90% (0.900) pure gold. Moreover, unlike modern American Gold Eagles they don't have any face value. Instead their obverses feature a marvelous depiction of Americans who changed the face of the arts with their contributions. John Mercanti (Chief Engraver of the US Mint at the time) and Frank Gasparro rendered these designs for use on these medals.

On the reverse, an image showcases the speciality of the personality on the obverse. For example, the Louis Armstrong medal features his favorite instrument -- the trumpet.

The 1984 Helen Hayes Gold Medal featured a limited mintage of just 35,000, while the 1980 Grant Wood and 1983 Robert Frost Medals had relatively higher mintage figures of 500,000.

Grab these Random Year 1 oz Commemorative Arts Gold Medals from SD Bullion and add 90% pure gold to your precious metals portfolio while honoring highly-acclaimed professionals who completely changed their respective fields. Although we can't guarantee what medal you get, you're assured authentic US Mint Commemorative Medals that were struck anywhere between 1980 and 1984.
