This product contains $10 face value of pre-1965 Franklin half dollars, and each $10 in face value contains approximately 7.15 ounces of pure silver. These coins date back to the pre-1965 era when circulation coins were minted using 90% Silver. 90 percent Silver Franklin half dollars were struck by the US Mint between 1948 and 1963.

An advantage of 90% Silver is that they have a face value, and so their face value is always retain its worth no matter what the price of silver is. Since these 90% silver coins are small pieces, 90% silver is often seen as the optimal type of silver to own if the economic system were to collapse. These silver coins are going to be in AU/UNC condition so they will show minimal signs of wear and tear compared to their circulated counterparts.

The obverse of these silver half dollars will feature the profile of Benjamin Franklin with the date the coin was minted to his right. The word “LIBERTY” is minted at the top of the coin and the words “IN GOD WE TRUST” are minted at the bottom.

The reverse will feature the famous Liberty Bell in the center of the coin with the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” to the left of the bell and a bald eagle minted to the right of it. Also the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” are minted at the top and “HALF DOLLAR” is minted at the bottom.
