2021 NGC PR-70 Early Release Type 2 American Silver Eagle Proof

The 2021 NGC PR-70 Early Release Type 2 American Silver Eagle Proof is a great addition to any portfolio for the collectible value it contributes. 

NGC, or Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, has issued this coin an Early Release PR-70 Proof designation. Each coin deemed “Early Release” means that the coin was received by NGC within the first 30 days of issue. The PR-70 designation means that the coin has no post-production imperfections at 5x magnification. Lastly, a Proof finish specifies the mirror-like finish that is normally an element that collectors look for in a coin. 

This 2021 NGC PR-70 Early Release Type 2 American Silver Eagle Proof is housed in an acrylic protective slab to maintain it in perfect condition. The graded coin is stamped with the official NGC seal and barcode, indicating its authenticity.

2021 Design Update

To commemorate the 35 year anniversary of the American Silver Eagle, the U.S. Mint changed the reverse design on the gold and silver coins. The old design features a depiction of a bald eagle on the famous Heraldic Eagle form, with a shield along with stripes in front of it. The new design presents a bald eagle amidst flight, embracing an oak branch in its talons.
