2021 NGC PR-70 First Day Of Issue Type 2 American Silver Eagle Proof

For the first time in 35 years, the American Eagle coins now feature an upgraded reverse design. Originally minted in 1986, the American Eagle has earned a number one spot amongst other bullion items in the precious metals world. The different reverse design has caught investors’ attention everywhere and it is now available as a 2021 NGC PR-70 First Day Of Issue Type 2 American Silver Eagle Proof.

The coin has been assigned the First Day of Issue PF-70 Proof status by NGC, or Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. Each coin labeled "First Day of Issue" was purchased by NGC within the first day that a mint makes a new coin. The PF-70 designation indicates that the coin is free of post-production flaws when seen under a 5x magnification. Finally, a Proof finish refers to the mirror-like finish that is very attractive to collectors. 

This 2021 NGC PR-70 First Day Of Issue Type 2 American Silver Eagle Proof is kept in mint condition by an acrylic protective slab that is perfect for storage and presentation. The official NGC seal and barcode are stamped on the graded coin, verifying its authenticity and grade.

2021 Design Update

The reverse design of gold and silver coins was modified to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the American Silver Eagle. In the original design, a bald eagle is depicted on the iconic Heraldic Eagle shape, with a shield and stripes in front of it. A bald eagle in flight with an oak branch in its talons is depicted in the new design.
