The 2021 Type 2 San Francisco Mint American Silver Eagles are now available in a Mini Monster Box from SD Bullion! Each box contains 5 MintCertified™ tubes, totalling 100 ounces. Each tube contains 20 silver coins that are individually sealed within the box, ensuring that you are the first to open them since they were struck at the San Francisco Mint. 

The Brilliant Uncirculated Silver eagles are a part of a limited mintage by the San Francisco Mint. While the West Point Mint produces millions of Silver Eagles annually, the San Francisco Mint produces a select number each year, making them scarce throughout the precious metals industry. Initially opened in 1854, the San Francisco Mint has largely contributed to the circulation of present day coins and currency. As the years progressed, the mint began to focus on the production of commemorative coins and silver proof sets, limiting its overall involvement with the top selling United States Silver American Eagle. When the coronavirus pandemic harshly impacted the economy and precious metals industry, the United States’ mints could not keep up with production and distribution of these coins. In order to help satisfy the demands of the coin across the globe, the San Francisco Mint produced a limited number of coins that became highly valuable and coveted due to their very limited mintage.

Each individual coin features the Type 2 design of the American Silver Eagle. This coin is different from the previous design on Silver American Eagles because it features a new reverse design for the first time in 35 years. The old design features a depiction of a bald eagle on the famous Heraldic Eagle form, with a shield along with stripes in front of it. The new design presents a bald eagle amidst flight, embracing an oak branch in its talons.

Despite the lack of a “S” mintmark on the individual coins, the coins are taken directly from a mint sealed monster box from the San Francisco Mint. The United States Mint has not stated how many coins will be minted at the San Francisco Mint this year, although collectors are aware that it will be substantially less than at West Point.
