Like their predecessor the Morgan Silver Dollar, the Peace Silver Dollar was minted in two separate runs by the US Mint. The first run of Peace Dollars was from 1921-1928, with the second being from 1934-1935. These MS-65 Peace Dollars could be from either of these runs. The peace dollar was minted at three locations: Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver. The Peace Dollars minted at San Francisco and Denver will have mint marks on them to indicate so. If the dollar you receive has no mintmark, this means it was produced at the Philadelphia location.

There were about 187 million Peace Silver Dollars minted in total. Just about 82,000 Peace Dollars have ever been certified to be in MS65 condition by NGC. That is just .04% of all Peace Dollars ever produced. NGC defines MS 65 as “well struck with moderate marks or hairlines” so you are getting a coin in excellent condition for being nearly a century old.

The obverse features Lady Liberty wearing a crown similar to that of the Statue of Liberty in the center of the design. The word “LIBERTY” is minted at the top of the coin, with the year od mintage at the bottom. “IN GOD WE TRUST” is also minted on the obverse.

The reverse features a bald eagle perched on a rock. Above the eagle are two lines of words: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” & “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. “ONE DOLLAR” is minted next to the eagle along with the word “PEACE” at the very bottom. If there is a mintmark on your Peace Dollar, it would be just above the tail feathers of the eagle.
